Begin the guided tour with a stop at North Rustico Harbour where the Bearded Skipper – Norman Peters – will delight you with stories of decades of lobster fishing, while you watch lobster boats unloading their catch of the day. Then to North Rustico Lighthouse to meet Mary Smith, who was born and lived in the lighthouse while her father was the keeper. Next will be a tour of PEI National Park with a photo-stop at Oceanview Lookoff, overlooking Cavendish Beach and the famous red cliffs, followed by a self-guided tour of Green Gables House (the site that inspired L.M. Montgomery to create her beloved tale of a red-haired orphan named Anne). The tour will finish off with a delicious lunch (and shopping for tasty homemade treats) at the PEI Preserve Company in New Glasgow.
